Welcome to First Place English Tutor Balham. I am Parita Shah, passionate about my subject with over 20 years teaching experience in the UK in both comprehensive and private schools. My aim is to help every student build their confidence, master essential skills and achieve their academic goal in a safe and supportive environment.
Throughout my career, I have taught in a variety of schools in Surrey, Greenwich and Wimbledon , with the most recent post being at Wimbledon High School. I have held a range of posts including 12 years as Head of Department, being a form tutor for KS3, KS4, KS5 ;hence having been involved in both pastoral and academic mentoring and preparing students for UCAS. I have also shaped the next generation of teachers by mentoring those on the graduate program and those working in my department. My role as an examiner for the AQA English language paper gives me unique insights into exam techniques, helping my students consistently achieve top grades.
